  • Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates for St. Augustine:

    March 25, 2020.

On March 25, the City of St. Augustine cancelled all permitted events, festivals, and large gatherings through May 8, 2020.

On March 23, Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order 2020-80, requiring all who fly into Florida from the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut) to isolate or quarantine themselves for a period of 14 days.

This article contains up-to-date information about what's open and what's closed in the St. Augustine area. We are continuing to update this information as we receive notifications of openings, closings, and cancellations by businesses, event organizers, and local and state government officials.

While we try hard to maintain accuracy in these lists of open and closed businesses, things are happening fast, and we recommend you always call ahead to confirm.

For information about precautions and healthcare recommendations in general about the Coronavirus emergency, visit the Center for Disease Control website.

There is no fee to park in city lots and spaces. There is a $15.00 daily fee to park in the city garage.

While travel is discouraged, for now, dreaming is not.

We at VistStAugustine are working from home and look forward to answering your questions about your future visit to the Historic City of St. Augustine.

I don't understand the Restriction about driving on the beach. If you are driving on the beach you can be more spread out from people and keeping the cluster of people smaller. We have paid for our beach passes and live in St Johns County and can't access our Beach. St Augustine beaches we're getting so crowded because of people coming from Jacksonville and other areas that the beaches have closed. We as residents of Saint Johns County should be able to park and go on our Beach. Why don't they put one of those little booths that we had to pay to get on the beach with and have people show st. Johns County residency to be allowed to park

Sleep Inn St. Augustine, 601 Anastasia Blvd. is open with all normal operations. Please add to your list. 904-825-4535

They should close all beaches for safety of all people. People are being selfish by going to the beach in crowds and taking risks with other peoples lives. Allowing people to go play and party at our beaches is a disgrace.

if you are scared stay at home..why ruin someone elses chance to make memories with their family.from what ive seen on the beachcams everyone was keeping their distance, but still enjoying the beach

Country Carriages is open also. Call for availability (904)669-8619

Can we still fish at the Inner coastal in St Augustine?

We should close Saint Augustine down. Who is gonna take responsibility if a outbreak happens here? There are people from everywhere in this town. Well I guess the local government will take full responsibility for the outbreak if it does happen. Good luck with that.

Are you kidding me? Fine, shelter in place and shut the city down for a month. Guess what , the virus will still be here. It will start all over again but with fewer shop, restaurants, and visitors. If you’re so worried about everyone’s health look at the death by the flu or drunk drivers.

Will the Farmer's Market at the amphitheater be open this Saturday, March 21?

will the Farmers Markets be open the 29th? coming from out of state

I am open as well! We're brand new.... Have breakfast & tons of Treats! Biscuits & Gravy, Breakfast Sandwiches, Pastries, Grits Cups your choice of meat, Belgian Waffles with fresh fruit, French Toast, Pancakes, Gelato Pops dipped & Topped...so much more. Text or call orders to 904-315-8348. Super clean and sanitized!

The protocol is "Shelter in Place." That means "stay home." Please have consideration for others. When all this is over, the beaches will still be here.

The Floridian Restaurant is open, hours are 11am-8pm. Offering online ordering, curbside pickup, delivery, and limited dining on our ope-air patio. Also offering family-style meals starting at $20 for 2 people (one protein and 3 sides, including dessert). Please add us to your "open" list! Our employees so appreciate the community support.

Are the beaches closed now or are the public access points still open?

Jax just shut down all public Accesses and says they will be patrolling the beach charging people with trespassing charges. Is there hope to grab a few waves in st Aug Saturday morning or is that going to be a no go too?

I just spoke with the St. Augustine Beach Services office and was told that they have received no directives to close the beaches.

All beach goers are encouraged to limit groups to ten or fewer, and maintain the 6 foot separation.  Enjoy the fresh air and U/V light !

Are private beaches closed, too? What if you own a house or condo on the beach; can you be on the beach, go fishing?

There are no private beaches in this county. Just because one owns a home or condo on the ocean front does not give them ownership below the high-tide mark. The beaches belong to everyone. Please, everyone, be aware of that.

Lizzy Ann, so many folks are asking this question !

Hi! It looks like the Villa Zorayda is actually closed until further notice. Although you list it as open. Just thought i would mention it.

    Is Micklers beach open 3/20/20

Have reservations at B&B starting 3/28/20 for 3 nights in historic district. Is beach open? So far B&B still open

Ice Plant Bar and Vintage Restaurant is closed but will reopen when allowed

The Pink Pineapple Boutique will remain open normal business hours. Monday-Saturday 10-7; Sunday 12-5

So, I Have hotel reservation for the 21-22 at the Hampton Inn, St Augustine Beach. Do you know if open? I tried calling. Also is Red Lobster open? Really considering staying home, due to everything being closed down. Some birthday for me, this year.

Just FYI...we are presently in Panama City Beach and got the news that the beaches have closed down. We just got here yesterday
And because all of the State and National Parks closed, we have decided to go home even though we are in a self contained Roadtrek van.
It's just no fun and there's no place to stay. Well, Walmart parking lots I guess but really? I just can't do it. We may drive straight through back to
    Rochester NY
If beaches stayed open I wouldn't hate staying at Walmart but whats the point? Save your money and when this all blows over go on a belated birthday trip.

    Bye Bye Fla.

We have not heard from the Red Lobster and do suggest you call them. We did hear from the Hampton Inn and they are open. From their website, I assume Red Lobster is as well. Hope you have a great birthday, no matter where you celebrate.

Is there a curfew for St. Augustine residents and surrounding areas at this time?

    Hello Natasha,

We have not heard anything about curfews. If you hear more about this we would love to know!

That's a really short list of restaurants open. We've never been there before. Have most restaurants closed?

    Hi Shane,

This is just a list of restaurants that have confirmed that they are open. I recommend calling any restaurants that you are interested in dining at before hand. Here you can find a complete list of restaurants

    Will hotels/motels waive cancellations fee?

    Hi Doug,

Waived cancellation fees varies per hotel and motel. I recommend calling to find out more information.

We will be driving to St. Augustine this evening. Are beaches and restaurants still open and are local grocery stores open even if with limited hours?

    Hi Veronica,

Bars and Clubs are closing for 30 days as of today and restaurants are required to have less than 50% occupancy. Walmart has adjusted hours (6am to 11pm) and Publix closes at 8pm everyday now.

We are planning on driving down from Michigan and arrive
3/27-4/11. Staying on Crescent Beach. Is the beach open? Golf courses? Restaurants? Publix??
    Thank you for any info!

    Kim

Please cancel your trip and stay home. Can we all please work together to flatten the curve. This is really no time for a vacation here.

    Hi Kim,

As of right now, Crescent beach is open. Some businesses are open and some are closed. We are updating this article continuously!

I know that the fort. Matanza park is closed but what about the surrounding parking lots around the inlet? I want to go kayaking around the inlet but i have not heard any news about the public parking situation.

Hi! We are planning on coming next week. Is there any thought that the actual beach may be shut down??

Miami beaches and destin beaches have closed so it wouldn’t be surprising if st Augustine beaches did.

    Hi Kiana,

As of right now the beaches are open.

We are in Ohio and have reservations at Byrm Mauer Campground Thursday 19th-Friday 27th. Trying to figure out if we should go. Everything in Ohio has closed except for gas stations and grocery stores. We would hate to get there and everything closes. Does it look like campgrounds are going to close too.

    Hello Kathy,

I spoke with Bryn Mawr Campground, and they are currently open and doing business as usual.  They are monitoring the Florida Department of Health's Twitter posts at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. for updates.

We have a VRBO scheduled for the first week in April. What is the forecast for into the future? Are beaches going to be closed?

I’m supposed to get married this weekend at River to Sea and then dinner reception at Catch 27. Our wedding hugest count is 12+ bride and groom. Any suggestions on moving forward with this wedding? Will there be a city wide restaurant closure? (Is Catch 27 open?) helllllp!

Best thing to do is call the places and people you need to call. Congratulations on your marriage!

Jacksonville, under Mayor Curry, is significantly reducing the number of patrons/guests who can inhabit an establishment at one time. He has restricted to 50 the number of people who can be in a public place that isn't a grocery store or pharmacy. He indicated that this limitation is as recommended by the CDC. Why isn't St. Augustine doing this too?
