Bird Walk at Anastasia State Park

Anastasia State Park volunteers will lead a nature walk to discover the myriad of birds that call the park home Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021.

  • Anastasia State Park offers a guided bird walk, where participants can learn more about Florida's native birds and ecology. The walk will take place from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

    Led by a park volunteer and naturalist, this nature walk is open to participants of all birding levels. Anastasia Park boasts a diverse variety of shore birds, marsh birds and hammock birds, as well as migratory birds in the winter months that cannot be seen any other time of the year. The walk leads guests along the beaches, boardwalk and nature trails of the state park.

    Participants are asked to dress for the weather and bring binoculars, water and comfortable walking shoes. The tour begins at the Island Beach Shop Grill Pavilion located at the end of the main park drive.

    Admission: The guided bird walk is free with regular park admission: $8 per vehicle with up to 8 people, $4 per vehicle with one occupant, and $2 for pedestrians/bicyclists.

    Where: Anastasia State Park is located at 300 Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine, FL 32080. The tour meets at the Island Beach Shop Grill Pavilion located at the end of the main park drive.
