Washington Oaks Gardens State Park presents "The Miracle of Migration" Bird Walk on Friday, October 18, 2018, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.

Ranger Joe Woodbury will explain the basics of bird migration and point out techniques to identify fall migrants. Participants may see hawks, falcons, wading birds, and song birds.

No reservations are required. A limited number of binoculars will be available, so guests are encouraged to bring their own. Please call (386) 446-6783 for more information.

Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is 425 acres of coastal preserve that ranges from rare coquina rock formations along the Atlantic to the tidal marshes of the Matanzas River and the historic formal gardens within the live oaks, magnolias, and coastal scrub of the beachside hammock.

Events like this birding program are offered by the Friends of Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, a community-based not-for-profit organization whose mission is to preserve, protect, promote, and provide interpretation at Washington Oaks Gardens and Faver-Dykes State Park.

Admission: Free with regular park admission: $5 per vehicle with up to 8 people, $4 for vehicle with one occupant, and $2 for pedestrians/bicyclists.
