The St. Augustine Amphitheatre debuts their Front Porch Concert series with two free concerts on November 8 and 9, 2017. This free music series is open to everyone and all ages, featuring roots music under stately oaks on a front porch made for dancing.

The Black Lillies and the Dustbowl Revival will be the headliners on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The Black Lilllies say they play "Tennessee music," as they combine Memphis soul with the classic country of Nashville and the Appalachian sounds of East Tennessee. The band plays rich, rootsy music with heart and virtuoso technique. According to Vanity Fair, "their sound continues to cross generations and musical genres — country, folk, blues, and add in a touch of the Dead, for good measure." They have played at venues ranging from Bonnaroo and Stagecoach to the Grand Ole Opry.

The Dustbowl Revival is known for their loose, free-flowing live shows that combine their funk rhythm with a fast-picking stringband section. They have opened for such bands as Lake Street Dive, Trombone Shorty, and The Preservation Hall Band, and have headlined festivals like Delfest, Floydfest, and the Anastasia Music Festival right here in St. Augustine.

The second concert in the Front Porch Series will feature country music innovator Ray Wylie Hubbard on Thursday, November 9, 2017. Visit here for details about this concert.

The Front Porch is a new area on the grounds of the St. Augustine Amphitheater that was officially unveiled in March 2017 and has become a popular spot for people to gather before concerts and other events. The Front Porch is sponsored by Canan Law Attorneys, with material for the porch donated by the St. Augustine Home Depot and the Palm Coast Home Depot.
