Ponce Celebration
Ponce Celebration
First held in 1883, the annual Ponce de Leon Celebration commemorating the founding of St. Augustine became a major festival featuring hundreds of re-enactors, concerts, speeches by dignitaries, boat races, fireworks and a late night gala. This 1920's view of the Ponce de Leon Celebration looks northward along the bay front from the vicinity of the Old Market. The scale of the event shows the high level of civic pride St. Augustinians have demonstrated over the years.
