St. John's wood is a five-piece ensemble performing British invasion pop and rock music of the 1960s. The St. Augustine band gets their name from a district in Westminster, London. It became most famous when The Beatles used a photo for their 1969 album release that showed one of the area's main drags - Abbey Road. The area of London was once home to Sir Paul McCartney of The Beatles, Andy Fletcher of Depeche Mode, and Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones. The band covers each of these British musical artists within their live performances, in addition to The Kinks, David Bowie, Eric Clapton, and The Who. The two electric guitarists of the band thoroughly enjoy creating harmonies with their solo riffs as vocalists do with their voices.
Led by electric guitarist and vocalist Steve O'Reno, the ensemble has been called "the most talked about band along the east coast of Florida." Rightfully so, the quintet expresses the most-loved characteristics of the Brits within their on-stage banter - tack, wit, and very dry humor. Listening to these five friends clown around on stage is like watching your favorite British sitcom. The zingers just keep coming. The band has been a continuously featured act at The Riverside Theatre's "Live in the Loop" concert series which is steadily attended by hundreds of local community members in Vero Beach, Florida. St. John's Wood was also hand-selected by The Florida Department of Protection to perform at its annual Earth Day celebration held in Sebastian Inlet State Park.
