  • Cafe Solo Italiano is out of business as of November 2016.

Located on beautiful historic Aviles St., Restaurant and Café Solo Italiano brings some Mediterranean flavor to the nation's oldest city.

Not only does Café Solo offer delicious and authentic Italian food, they also provide an authentic Mediterranean atmosphere. The restaurant features sidewalk tables, where guests can watch the passers-by and enjoy St. Augustine's Old-World charm at their leisure.

The menu features classic Italian dishes, including Neapolitan pizza and pastas. Guests will find some traditional Brazilian dishes on the menu as well, like the national dish of the country -- Feijoada Completa, which comes with black beans cooked with various meats and spices, veggies, collard greens, fried bacon, fried banana, and farofa (a spice and bacon topping).

The staff at the Café Solo is more than happy to assist with the menu items for those new to the cuisine. The restaurant is open until late evening, and offers patio seating as well as indoor dining.

We have made a few trips to this Cafe Solo since our Son chose to go to Flagler College. We love the feel of the place, the folks are nice and efficient. The food is wonderful. We will be going back regularly for the next four years and hope to visit them often. Carroll was our waiter the last time and we appreciated the way he took care of everything we needed, quickly and without problems.

Wow, that name is a mouthful! Anyway, the food is fresh and wonderful and location is great, with cute little tables out on Aviles St, where you can sip a drink and watch the tourists and locals walk by. It feels very European.
