The outside of the Wawa on S.R. 16

Wawa — S.R. 16

Serivng built-to-order hoagies and beverages with a gas station on the side.

Open 24 hours.

Wawa began in 1804 as an iron foundry in New Jersey, but when owner, George Wood, took an interest in dairy farming, the family started a small processing plant in Wawa, Pennsylvania. The milk business took off and George's grandson, Grahame Wood, opened the first Wawa Food Market in 1964 to showcase dairy products.

Today Wawa has become so popular - especially among Philadelphians and displaced Philadelphians - that it has its own fan club. Why? Because Wawa has coffee options galore — all tasty, built-to-order hoagies, surcharge-free ATMs, great customer service, and guests can fill up their gas tanks, too.

Breakfast sandwiches, specialty beverages, and an assortment of soups, sides, and snacks are available. Restrooms are onsite as well.

There is another Wawa location in St. Johns County: Wawa — South.
