Dixie Pottery Gallery and Studio
Dixie Pottery Gallery and Studio combines art exhibition space and work space. There is a small collection of fine art pottery, original paintings and clay sculpture in the gallery. There is also studio space dedicated to classes in wheel throwing, clay building with slabs, coils and forms.
Both intermediate and experienced potters can rent studio space by the month and utilize a kiln for firing their work. Others interested in learning about pottery making can sign up for scheduled classes. Owner-artists, Patricia and Doug Brown invite gallery visitors and students alike to explore the Dixie Pottery Gallery. After twenty years working in wheel thrown pottery / sculpture and extensive exhibiting in a myriad of outdoor art and craft shows and galleries throughout Central and South Eastern United States, the Browns are eager to share their experience and knowledge. The hope of the Dixie Pottery Gallery is to provide instruction and art exhibition space, as well as encourage the community to participate in the healthful benefits of making handcrafted items.
