Plum Gallery Pop Up
Plum Gallery Pop Up is a compact gallery, created by Karen Sheridan of Plum Contemporary Gallery, and designed to showcase the pottery of St. Augustine-based artist, Worley Faver. The Plum Gallery Pop Up is a permanent exhibition space for Worley's renowned pottery, and provides a small studio space where he can work on select pieces while talking with visitors about the things and people who have influenced him. As he works and talks, Worley often shows and explains some of his techniques.
Worley takes inspiration from dreams and nature to create hand-built earthenware. He does not use a wheel, but creates pottery in the manner of the Anasazi Indians. His pieces are textured with the aid of natural tools (stones, coral, a feather) and burnished in a fire of smouldering sawdust.
In addition to the pottery, Plum Gallery Pop Up provides solo show opportunities for 2D artists. In August 2019, when this profile was written, the gallery featured the art of Gary Borse.
