Alyse Dione
Stories inspired by indie and folk traditions.
Jacksonville, Florida-based singer-songwriter Alyse Dione dropped her debut EP, Burnout, in 2024, with a celebratory performance at the Blue Jay Listening Room. Since then, she released a new single, "Strawberry Moon," in June, 2026, followed by a new EP, Punchlines, in August.
Dione began writing and performing early in her teens, sharing her original music. After taking a break, she started playing at venues again, singing mostly covers. Ultimately, Dione began writing more original material in the indie and folk genres, saying those genres provide the opportunity to tell her stories with her songs.
Under her given name, Alyse Doty, she performed at the renowned Daily's Place and was invited to perform at the White House. She was delighted with the honor and the opportunity to perform on a national stage. Her music has evolved through the years, and Dione recently changed her name from Alyse Doty to Alyse Dione, which had been her middle name. She said the change signifies her growth in music and honors her family, as the name Dione had been passed down to her.
With a strong and enchanting voice, Doty crafts songs with meaningful stories in folk and indie traditions.
