Amo Doyle

Born John Doyle in the village of Keadue, in County Roscommon, "Amo" soon developed a taste for live performance. The Irish singer-songwriter first picked up a stage name as a teenager—shortened from “Amarillo,” the song he used to close his early shows—and the nickname stuck. Building a career defined by movement, momentum, and a refusal to follow the expected path, Doyle’s sound is anything but traditional. 

After gigging his way through business school in Ireland and releasing early original material, Amo relocated to New York City to chase bigger stages. There, his high-octane sets quickly earned him a reputation as one of the most compelling solo performers in the Irish bar circuit. Praised for his electrifying presence, he became a regular draw from Times Square to Long Island, later expanding his reach to Boston, Florida, and beyond. 

Doyle’s sound is anything but traditional. Though proudly Irish, he sidesteps folk standards in favor of what he once described as “anti-genre” music—an energetic fusion of modern pop, rock anthems, Irish ballads, and unexpected rhythmic twists. Armed with an acoustic guitar, drum machine, and a suitcase of effects pedals, he creates the force of a full band. His sets can shift from crowd-pleasing classics by U2, Tom Petty, The Eagles, and Coldplay to hip-hop-infused Irish ballads and jaw-dropping solos. 

His momentum has carried him far beyond New York,and recent winters have seen him touring extensively across Florida and Tennessee, packing bars and private events alike. With two acclaimed albums and a growing catalog of originals—including fan favorite “One Night Stand”—Doyle continues to transform any room into a singalong, sweat-soaked celebration.
