Often known by the moniker Grandfather Chakulla, this solo artist combines vocalized drumming with acoustic guitar and a loop pedal, as well as harmonica, marimba, and conga. Performing on radio and TV, at house concerts, clubs, and festivals, Chakulla inspires listeners to join him on his journey through jazz, folk, and Americana music. As a recognized member of the Americana Music Community Association, he has shared a stage with Arlo Guthrie, Richie Havens, Buddy Miles, and Pete Seeger.

Besides four decades of playing music and writing lyrics, Chakulla always brings awareness to his personal passion, feeding others. Arriving at festivals in his "Hunger Bus," he collects and distributes food to those in need.
