Originally from Cuthbert, Georgia, Cole Taylor signed a publishing deal with Universal Magic Publishing when he moved to Nashville in 2013. Since then, he has had cuts for songs he has written for Rodney Atkins and Chase Rice through Florida Georgia Line. Cole Taylor was raised on Garth Brooks, Maroon 5, Travis Tritt, and Usher, which has given him the pop-leaning sound in his country music.

Taylor is known for his brilliantly simple lyrics; he says "it's not really this big, complicated way of saying things, it's how a small-town guy would say it and that's what reaches people. I grew up with this natural, conversational way of saying stuff that works… I write for my fans and try to touch them with songs because some people don't know how to say what they want to say."
