Glass Chapel
Writing and performing a detached version of punk heavy on synthesizers.
Glass Chapel, founded by Jake Phillips, started in a popular coffee shop on Jax Beach, where every member of the band has worked. The band found its sound when guitarist Nick Phitides and Angela Sitzler, a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, joined with Phillips.
They frequently write songs together; Phillips usually starts with a drumbeat, and together they add the music, followed by the lyrics. Each member's instrumentation and vocals are decided during the writing process and depend on how the song comes together. Most often, Sitzler plays the synthesizer, creating a cinematic quality to their spare music.
