Jacob Rice makes songwriting look easy. His wry lyrics can make the heartache of breakups feel hopeful, with an island sound. Influenced by favorites like Old Dominion Billy Currington, and Thomas Rhett, he has shared stages with Jake Owen, Jeffrey Steele, and Love & Theft. His professional career picked up speed in 2022 when his song "I Will Remember" won the Middle Tennessee region of Tennessee Songwriters Week. Rice was later named a Listening Room Cafe Unsigned Artist to Watch, was recognized as a Rising Artist by the Bluebird Cafe, and was selected for BMI's (Broadcast Music Inc.) Next Big Wave.

Rice writes for other artists, sings his own songs, and records other songwriters' work. Major artists who have recorded songs he has written or co-written include Adam Sanders, Trace Adkins, Luke Bryan, HARDY, Drew Parker, and Darius Rucker. In 2025, he signed his first publishing deal, and balances performing with songwriting. His expanding catalog, and a 2027 headlining appearance aboard Same Boat Ahead, pave his way into the future of modern country music. With a conversational songwriting style, Rice has earned more than a million streams on major platforms, as of summer 2027.
