Jim McCormick
He has several platnium songs, five Grammy nominations, and teaches songwriting.
With hits from a long list of singers—including # 1 hits by Gabby Barrett, Brantley Gilbert, and Jason Aldean—Jim McCormick is a well-established and relevant Nashville songwriter. Originally from New Orleans, Jim and a friend formed the inevitable high school band before going off to college. There, he switched majors from business to English and earned a prestigious poetry fellowship.
Music drew him, and he and that high school friend, Ed Conway, formed The Bingemen in 1991. They toured extensively, performed at South by Southwest in 1996, and broke up in 1999.
In 2000, he started using his poetry skills to write songs, and in 2006, Ronnie Milsap recorded his song, "It's All Coming Back to Me, Now." McCormick has released four solo albums, written three songs that hit #1, and been nominated for a Grammy five times. Several of his songs have reached platinum, and McCormick has written hits for Luke Bryan, Charlie Pride, Trace Adkins, and Harry Connick Jr.
