Jon Bailey
Playing his guitar upside down and backwards while singing alternative folk songs.
Jon Bailey, a singer and songwriter, headed south from Orono, Maine, and became a fixture in the St. Augustine music scene in the 2010s. He was one of 15 singer/songwriters to participate in Amy Hendrickson's Local Honey project in 2014/15. Bailey also contributed to Tales From the Ancient City, St. Augustine's 450th commemoration.
Bailey has had live performances across the southeast, in living rooms and at festivals, singing originals and select covers in his alternative folk style.
Bailey started writing songs when he was 14 years old. When he moved south, he gained a large following in Jacksonville, Florida, working on a project called "Sea Floor Explosives." He released an album in 2018, lowercase i, recorded at First Tank Recording in St. Augustine. Bailey is a talented singer, songwriter, and guitarist who plays his guitar upside down and backwards. He has a knack for connecting with his audience, and his powerful vocals and guitar skills leave a long-lasting impression on his listeners.
