From Sydney, Australia, Phil Barton moved to Nashville, so he could expand his musical career. Barton has had several of his songs recorded by artists such as Lee Brice, Sara Evans, Eli Young Band, David Nail, and others. He was awarded "Breakthrough Songwriter" of 2012 in the Music Row Awards and had his first #1 Billboard song with Lee Brice's hit "A Woman Like You." The song went double platinum in the United States and won him a National Songwriters Association International Award for "One of the Ten Songs I Wish I'd Written." His music has appeared in the 2016 three-time Oscar-nominated film Sicario, and television shows like Nashville and video games such as "Sims." Over his career, he has written more than 800 country, children's, and pop records around the world.
