Randy Houser

Randy Houser, country recording artist, performer, and songwriter recently released his fifth, and more personal album, Magnolia. Produced by Randy with Keith Gattis, Randy wanted Magnolia to be a more personal album. He co-wrote all 12 of the songs on the LP, which features some of his fellow artists and a more acoustic sound, saying, "It was just, hey, I gotta go do me. Not be chasing something that has already happened," he says. 

Randy's three consecutive No. 1 Hits, "How Country Feels," "Runnin' Outta Moonlight," and "Goodnight Kiss," were all on his album How Country Feels. "Goodnight Kiss" was Randy's first No. 1 hit as a songwriter. He has also earned multiple nominations for ACM and CMA Awards, a No. 2 single in the form of "Boots On," and songwriting credits for Trace Adkins, Justin Moore, Chris Young, and others.

"Having those hits [on How Country Feels] bridged a lot of gaps for me. It showed me a lot about myself and those years, and it showed me what I don't want to do. I really love having hits, but I want to be able to make music that reflects me as much as anything," he said.

Of this new album, Rolling Stone has said, "Magnolia operates on a smaller scale [than Houser's prior albums]. Many of the heavy riffs are excised or played acoustically, making room for rich, seventies-sounding keyboards, and the drums are often so soft they wouldn't alarm your neighbors. This has the advantage of making Houser, who has an arena-swallowing voice, seem that much bigger."

Randy is just beginning his 2019 fall tour for Magnolia, taking him from Dallas to St. Augustine, and throughout the Central and Eastern U.S.
