Scott Jackson splits his interests between songwriting, performing, dentistry, and family.
Like so many musicians who play festivals and small venues, Scott Jackson has a day job. That is, as Dr. Scott Jackson to his dental patients in Ocala. A few of his bands have been with other dentists, and now he is focusing on going solo on stage.
Scott’s own “Florida Highway” won First Place as the Best New Florida Song at the 2021 Will McLean Festival, and his song “Freedom Had to Wait” won Second Place. Jackson’s sound is heavily influenced by James Taylor and Jim Croce, but he took it to a unique Florida-boy perspective, and, when he went solo, his original tunes began winning awards.
