The Flagler College Community Lecture Series continues on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at 10 a.m., with a presentation by Dr. Jessica Howell entitled "Myth Busters: The Online Takeover of Education." The lecture will be held in the college's stunning Solarium in Ponce Hall.

Dr. Howell is Assistant Professor of History and Director of Online Learning at Flagler College. She will lead the discussion about the challenges and benefits of online learning, and how best to achieve "a healthy balance of traditional and online courses" in the university environment.

The Flagler College Community Lecture Series began in 2007 to offer the St. Augustine community an opportunity to explore topics covering arts, religion, politics, culture, history, economics and more with experts on the Flagler College faculty. This year's theme is "The Education Conversation," with a variety of discussion planned to address questions about the value and usefullness of a liberal arts education.

The Community Lecture Series is hosted monthly in the college's Solarium, the centerpiece of Henry Flagler's Ponce de Leon Hall. Tickets are $5 per person for a single lecture, or $15 for four lectures. Active military personnel may attend at no charge. Lectures begin at 10 a.m., and no reservations are required. Each lecture lasts approximately one hour and will be followed by a coffee and pastry reception. For more information, call (904) 826-8582 or visit here.
