Active since 2001, Kaki King is celebrated for compositions like "Night After Sidewalk," "Doing the Wrong Thing," "Skimming the Fractured Surface," "Bari Improv," and "Yellowcake." Her music seamlessly blends elements of instrumental, shoegaze, and post-rock, creating intricate soundscapes that captivate audiences.
Born and raised in Georgia, King showcased her mastery of the acoustic and lap steel guitar in performances from coast to coast, amassing more than 112,000 listeners on Spotify and other streaming platforms. While studying at New York University, she honed her craft by busking in the New York City subways, eventually catching Velour Records' attention and earning a recording contract.
King has performed on The Late Night Show with Conan O’Brien and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, opened for legendary artists such as Eric Johnson, and toured alongside the Foo Fighters, The Mountain Goats, and more, solidifying her reputation as one of today’s most innovative guitarists.
