On Thursday, September 4, 2026, vocalist and guitarist Zaza Flamenca and guitarist Gabriel Herminda are joined by flamenco dancer Mariana for three concerts held in the intimate Velvet Room at the Casa Monica Hotel. The evening, "A Night in Andalusia," brings the music and dance of southern Spain to St. Augustine, with ticketed concerts at 5:00, 7:00, and 9:00 p.m.

A Night in Andalusia

The evening promises to envelop guests in a warm, intimate evening of the passionate music of southern Spain. The flamenco art form combines expressive singing, intricate guitar, and dance that is both fluid and percussive. Zaza plays guitar and provides the vocals, as Herminda adds his virtuosic guitar style, played with precision and passion. Performing with these musicians, Mariana Ramos, a Flamenco dancer originally from Cuba, provides the visual beauty of flamenco and the percussion through hand clapping, footwork, and castanets found in this traditional blend of music and dance.

In addition to traditional flamenco numbers, the program includes other Spanish music, rumbas, and music inspired by the Gypsy Kings.

Zaza Flamenca and Gabriel Herminda

ZaZa—singer, songwriter, and guitarist—has performed worldwide. With her French and Israeli heritage and a facility with languages, ZaZa is adept at singing in several genres and languages. She has frequently performed Spanish music in St. Augustine, honoring the city's Spanish heritage, with her flamenco guitar skills and expressive Spanish vocals.

From Argentina, Herminda excels at classical and flamenco guitar, sings, and composes music. He performed with Broadway star and American tap dancer Savion Glover for several years, providing the music that inspired Glover's dancing, which in turn provided the percussion for their performances.
