Please Note: This event is from 2016.
The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum and Flagler College present "Between Here and There," an exhibition featuring a selection of artist Shannon Estlund's recent paintings in addition to her new series of sculpture.
The opening reception of this exhibit will take place on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. An exhibition walk-through with artist Shannon Estlund will be held prior to the opening reception at 4 p.m. This exhibit will be on display through June 24, 2016.
Artist Shannon Estlund is a Jacksonville native who lives and works in Minneapolis, MN. Estlund's sculptural works combine natural and synthetic materials to create "objects that exist within and outside of our awareness; uncanny and yet familiar." Covering an array of subjects in her paintings, from the growth and deterioration of lush Florida landscapes and winter scenes in the Midwest to fabric diptychs, painted photographs, and multimedia works, Estlund explores the "underlying emotional content of an object or place."
