Seven men walk in a procession along the Matanzas River, dressed in the garb of colonial Spanish soldiers, citizens, and priests.

History Festivals

It stands to reason that the Ancient City hosts events celebrating our history.

You can learn more about St. Augustine's history every time you visit. Most of our attractions are historical, and the architecture is unique. This area was a long-time home to the Timucuan people, "discovered" by the Spanish, and "discovered" again during the Gilded Age when Henry Flagler built his hotels and was instrumental in other construction. Visit during the right time of the year, and you can be immersed in our history at one of our festivals.
