A/C Power Unit offers exuberant sets with skill, great songs, and a sense of fun.
Members of this four-person band are Alexis Peramas, on guitar and vocals; Buddy Crump on lead guitar; Christian Powers on bass and vocals; and Christian Ward on drums. Most of the group are multi-instrumentalists and songwriters. Their sets are mostly covers, with upbeat rhythms and interesting lyrics, think Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive," Weezer's "We'll Run Away Together," and "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley. The musicianship is flawless, and the audience is always moving.
Like many bands and musicians in the area, all four can be found in other bands, and some of them, including Peramas, have a local following as solo performers. Christian Powers and Buddy Crump can also be found performing in the trio, Fortune Child.
In addition (as can be seen in the group photo), A/C Power Unit frequently leaves town for a gig on a cruise ship, where they are sure to get that audience moving, too.
