Cumbe Sonico
Dance, sway, and enjoy the music of this high-energy, Latin fusion band.
Described as a musical project, Cumbé Sonico brings together six musicians who all perform with other acts to form a rhythmic, sensual Latin band that blends salsa, funk, reggae, and pop. The result is a high-energy band performing originals and covers that make audience members sway to the beat.
Josué Cruz sings lead vocals and writes some of the songs. He is also a member of the Jacksonville band LPT. Mary Paz is a lauded Cuban percussionist and backup singer who has performed with several acts throughout Florida. Guitarist Chris Underdal, also from Jacksonville, also plays guitar in a local new group, 3 Eyed Atlas. Kevin Peacon, a guitarist in the group, writes songs and plays guitar throughout Northeast Florida. Kevin Ramos plays bass for this band, and is a multi-instrumentalist who sings as well as plays guitar and percussion.
Together, these six musicians have developed a following in Jacksonville that is spreading to other areas of North Florida, including St. Augustine.
