Honest Liars

The Honest Liars are a Fort Lauderdale band featuring St. Augustine’s Jorge Hernandez of Contact Buzz. Their music combines classic country rock with the grit and DIY approach of punk. The songs feature lap steel, jangling guitars, easy-going rhythms, and acoustic harmonies, with stories centered on broken trust, jealousy, greed, hard lessons, and the people who survive them.

The band is made up of experienced musicians who have been part of South Florida’s underground music scene for more than two decades. Those experiences come together in The Honest Liars, bringing musicians from different parts of the South Florida scene into one band. Live, The Honest Liars combine elements of front-porch country, barroom rock, and punk rock. Their performances reflect the same musical blend found in their recordings, with a direct approach that keeps the focus on the songs and their stories.
