Jimmy Parrish and The Waves
Listeners are on island time when jamming to this award-winning band's songs.
Jimmy Parrish, a Florida native and Jacksonville resident, is best known for his island style and acoustic rock sound. He pays homage to the icon who shares the same first name, Jimmy Buffett, who popularized the trop-rock genre.
Although Jimmy performs as a solo act, he also formed the Ocean Waves Band in 2000. The group became successful by winning the Next Big Star contest in 2008 and getting the opportunity to open for Kenny Chesney on the big stage. Jimmy Parrish and The Waves have won the Trop Rock Music Association Horizon Award and are continuously nominated yearly for their songs and albums.
With CDs released regularly for their beach-loving fan base, the band has made a name for themselves in the trop-rock community. Catch them headlining major festivals and performing at Parrot Head events, resorts, tiki bars, and private functions. Audiences can listen to a mix of original and cover songs from artists such as Bob Marley, Zac Brown, and of course, Jimmy Buffett.
