A prolific and award-winning songwriter with more than 300 songs.
Monty Criswell is a celebrated songwriter whose career spans more than three decades, with more than 300 cuts to his name and at least one chart-topping hit in each of the last 30 years. A two-time Grammy nominee for Country Song of the Year with “I Saw God Today” and “Just Fishin’,” he also took home the Country Music Association (CMA) Single of the Year award in 2008 for “I Saw God Today.”
In 2021, his work with Eric Church on “Hell of a View” earned the Music Row Song of the Year honor and went on to receive CMA nominations for both Song of the Year, and Single of the Year. Along the way, Criswell has also been recognized as a nominee by the Academy of Country Music, Dove Awards, and the Canadian CMA.
His songs have reached audiences far beyond the charts, appearing on ESPN, ABC, The Hallmark Channel, and even the hit series Yellowstone. Over the course of a 30-year songwriting career, Criswell has recorded more than 300 songs, which includes one number-one hit per year.
Today, he continues to shape the sound of country music with new releases, including Tim McGraw’s single “Paper Umbrellas” featuring Parker McCollum, and Scotty McCreery’s “Bottle Rockets” featuring Hootie & The Blowfish.
