Palimony — seven talented musicians and songwriters influenced by country favorites and alternative rock powerhouses (think Dolly Parton and Wilco) — perform their own songs and covers in a genre that may be new to some listeners: psychedelic country.

Led by Lexi Braun and Jacob Adams, Palimony released a self-titled album in 2019. The excellent musicians in the band also include Mark Archer, Jacquelyn T. Leeper, Chelsea Carnes, Sam Moss, and Brian Lee.

Palimony's sound is suffused with string instrumentation — bass, guitar, violin, and pedal steel guitar — and enhanced by synth and a solo trumpet. Lexi, Sam, and Jacob perform most of the lead vocals for songs, with Jacob and Chelsea also singing backup.

Their music bends genres and nearly always focuses on love, loss, heartbreak, and healing. Most of their covers, and nearly all of their original compositions, reflect the sadder moments of our lives or the lives and losses of our friends.

From Gainesville, Palimony has been gaining statewide attention with their "slower and sadder" style.
