The Rennys, based in Gainesville, is a vibrant power pop/rock trio spearheaded by seasoned singer-songwriter Mick Richmond. A familiar face in the local music landscape, Richmond first gained recognition with the ska band The Skatterbrainz and later co-founded Spike the Cat.
He is joined by bassist John Holmes and drummer Masa Enomoto. Holmes, known for his work with synth-pop acts and the psychedelic-leaning Flesh Castanet, also played alongside Richmond in Spike the Cat. Enomoto, a sought-after session and live percussionist, is a former member of Morningbell and actively contributes to Gainesville’s jazz, pop, and experimental music community.
