Sand Fleas

This duo will make their "comeback" in St. Augustine for the Rhythm for the River fundraiser for the Matanzas Riverkeeper.

Sand Fleas, a duo with Hunter Miller and Dawson Bass formed in the early 2010s. Based in St. Augustine, they played American grassroots inspired tunes and wrote songs about matters that were important to them.

Originally from northeast Florida, Hunter attended Flagler College, playing music in his spare time.

Dawson moved to St. Augustine in 2012, met Hunter, and they started making music together. Hunter plays guitar, Dawson plays banjo, and they both provide vocals.

Upon graduating, Hunter took a job on Florida's Gulf Coast and is now working as Oceana's Campaign Organizer for Southwest Florida.

It's fitting that Hunter will return to his musical and activist roots for the Rhythm for the River event at Dog Rose Brew Pub where he and Dawson will reprise Sand Fleas.
