Surfer Blood
The Florida indie rock band has played at SXSW and on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Surfer Blood, a four-piece band from Florida, plays indie-rock music that is more melodic than one would infer from their name.
The four members are all former students at A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach. As Surfer Blood, they have performed on the Jimmy Fallon show, on the NPR stage for SXSW, and opened for the Pixies. They play original tunes, most with a surfer or beach vibe, and their videos — like most of their songs — show a quirky sense of humor.
Members of Surfer Blood are John Paul Pitts lead singer and guitarist, Mike McCleary on Guitar and vocals, Lindsey Mills on bass and vocals, and Tyler Schwarz on drums. According to their website, Surfer Blood is "the cleanest and nicest band in existence."
