The Ximenez Fatio House Museum will host a number of artists from the Plein Air Paint Out event as they demonstrate their "plein air" painting skills at the Museum on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This event is co-presented by the National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of Florida and is part of St. Augustine's Romanza Festivale of Music and the Arts.

"En plein air" is a French term that is used to describe painting outdoors ("in open air"), using natural light. Painting outdoors was very popular in the mid-19th century. Artists participating in April's Plein Air Paint Out were positioned all over St. Augustine's downtown historic district. Pieces that are selected from submitted works are featured in a juried exhibition, "Where Art Meets History," at the St. Augustine Art Association that runs from May 1 to May 24, 2020.

Admission: $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for seniors, military, and students with ID.

When: Tuesday, May 5, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Museum opens at 10:00 a.m., and the artists will gather at 11:00 a.m.

Where: The Ximenez-Fatio House Museum is located at 20 Aviles St. in historic St. Augustine, FL 32084.
