Romanza: Juana Zayas in Concert

Havana-born pianist Juana Zayas has been winning awards for her artistry on the piano since she was just 11 years old.

  • Romanza Festivale of Music and the Arts presents Cuban pianist Juana Zayas in the Festival's opening headliner concert on Friday, May 3, 2019, at the Cathedral Basilica.

    Havana-born pianist Juana Zayas has been winning awards for her artistry on the piano since she was a little girl. She gave her first recital at age 7, graduated with a Gold Medal from the Peyrellade Conservatory at age 11, and went on to study at the Conservatoire National Superior de Musique de Paris.

    Ms. Zayas is known for her sensitive rendering of the music of Chopin. She has toured throughout Europe, South America, and the United States as a Steinway artist, and has had several performances broadcast by National Public Radio and New York's WQXR.

    Admission: The concert is free.

    When: Friday, May 3, 2019, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

    Where: The Cathedral Basilica is located at 38 Cathedral Place, across from the Plaza de la Constitución in downtown St. Augustine.
