The St. Augustine Food + Wine Festival at World Golf Village

For five days, from Wednesday, May 3, through Sunday, May 7, 2023, the St. Augustine Food and Wine Festival will present celebrity chefs, food prepared by some of St. Augustine's favorite eateries, demonstrations by celebrity chefs, celebrity wine makers, articans, and local craft spirits and beers. Those who attend have multiple opportunities to enjoy food created by some of the area's best local chefs — i. Tickets are limited and may be purchased a la carte or in various packages.

 

River Walk Tastings

The 2023 St. Augustine Food and Wine Festival opens with a progressive event, the River Walk Tastings along the San Sebastian Riverfront on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event starts east of the river at San Sebastian Winery where guests will be given souvenir wine glasses, then they may travel to Homewood Suites on the west side the river by walking across the bridge from one event to the other or hop on a special free trolley.

At San Sebastian Winery, Chef Norberto Jaramillo from La Cocina International Restaurant offers tasting bites paired with wines from San Sebastian Winery.

At Homewood Suites by Hilton on the San Sebastian, tasting bites will be served with samples from all of the festival's official beverage partners.

Admission: $69.00 per person for early bird tickets, $79.00 after. Only those 21 and over will be admitted.

Harvest, Premier Wine Tasting & "Harvest Awards"

On Thursday, May 4, 2022, the festival continues with a Harvest, Premier Wine Tasting and Harvest Awards at the Lightner Museum

This event is designed for wine lovers, and premium wines will be offered along with samples from some of Northeast Florida's best restaurants. These select chefs will compete for the "Harvest Award," honoring the best tasting dish that includes one or more local ingredients. 

Admission: $165.00 per person with limited attendance. Only those 21 and over will be admitted.

Cinco de Mayo Tacos & Tequila

Presented by Mijenta Tequila, this new St. Augustine Food + Wine Festival event offers a tip of the sombrero to Cinco de Mayo, on May 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

Cinco de Mayo Tacos and Tequilla will be served on the Villagio Patio at World Golf Village.

Admission: $49.00 per person. This outdoor event will take place come rain or come shine. Only those 21 and over will be admitted.

Smoked, Grilled, and Roasted Barbeque Bites on Friday at the "Smoke on the Walk"

Friday will conclude with "Smoke on the Walk" along the Walk of Champions and World Golf Hall of Fame. Taking place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., this "BBQ Extravaganza" allows guests to sample the flavors of some of the southeast's most loved grill masters and pit-masters. In addition, Smoke on the Walk contains the Champions Brands Craft Brews Alley featuring brews and ciders from local makers from Northeast Florida. Those who attend can enjoy unlimited beverage samples as they try smoked, grilled, and roasted barbeque bites.

Admission: $99.00 per person. This event is outdoor and will take place rain or shine. Only those 21 and over will be admitted. Free parking, no pets allowed.

On Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Ana Fabiono will take guests on a "trip" thorugh the Rioja wine region, from the World Golf Hall of Fame Tower.  Author of The Wine Region of Rioja, Ana Faviano is an expert on the wines and vineyards of that region where those who travel there would fine ancient, classic, and modern methods operating. This class will offer both white and red wines, accompanied by tapas.

Admission: $79.00 per person. Rioja in the 21st Century will be held indoor at the St. Johns County Convention Center at World Golf Village.

St. Augustine Food and Wine Festival — Main Event

The festival continues with the "St. Augustine Food and Wine Festival Main Event" from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2023. This all-inclusive food and drink event allows every ticket-holder one souvenir glass for unlimited beverage tastings and culinary samplings. Over 300 varieties of beverages will be available for sampling along the Walk of Champions at the World Golf Hall of Fame

Admission: Early Bird Cost -$119.00 per person, Regular Cost - $129.00 per person. Only those 21 years and older may attend.

At the Main Event: Publix Cooking Demo Stage

Presented by the Local Palate magazine, the Cooking Demo Stage features three chefs and chef teams in four demonstrations:

  • 2:15 - 3:00 p.m. — Ansley Kichnen, Senior Managing Chef of Publix Aprons Cooking School
  • 3:15 - 3:45 p.m. — The Sysco Team of Chefs
  • 4:00 - 4:30 p.m. — The Sysco Team of Chefs 
  • 4:30 - 5:00 p.m. — Jernard Wells, chef, author and TV personality

The Jazz Brunch

The St. Augustine Food + Wine Festival will conclude on Sunday, May 7, 2023,  with "The Jazz Brunch" — complete with a Bloody Mary Bar, champagne, Mimosas, a multi-station brunch, and music — at the St. Johns County Convention Center. The Jazz Brunch takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and is a family-friendly event.

Admission: Earlybird price - $89.00 per person. Regular price - $99 per person.  

 

Notes about the St. Augustine Food + Wine Festival in 2023

Where: Most events will take place at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine and the St. Johns County Convention Center at World Golf Village. River Walk Tastings take place at San Sebastian Winery and at Homewood Suites. The Harvest Premier Wine Tasting and Harvest Awards will be held at the Lightner Museum, 75 King Street, St. Augustine. Cinco de Mayo Tacos and Tequila will be held on the patio of Villagio at World Golf Village.

The museum at the World Golf Hall of Fame displays over 4,000 items, including personal memorabilia of Hall of Fame members such as Nancy Lopez, Arnold Palmer, and Jack Nicklaus. The mission of the World Golf Hall of Fame is to preserve these legacies of all who have made golf great, and to celebrate the sport at every level.
