The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presents Steve Hackett on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Steve Hackett, best known for "Spectral Mornings," "Ace of Wands," "Everyday," and his groundbreaking work with Genesis, showcases his extraordinary talent while revisiting timeless classics. Born in London, Hackett grew up immersed in music, drawing early inspiration from classical composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach and the operatic voice of Mario Lanza.
By age 12, he was experimenting with the guitar, blending those classical influences with a fascination for progressive rock. In 1971, Hackett joined Genesis, where his innovative playing shaped the band's sound and helped create the acclaimed 1973 album Selling England by the Pound, which climbed to number three on the U.K. charts and earned gold status in the U.S.
Hackett recorded his first solo album, Voyage of the Acolyte, in 1975 while still with Genesis, reaching number 26 on the U.K. charts and achieving silver certification. After leaving the band in 1977 following the release of Wind & Wuthering, Hackett embarked on an extraordinary solo career, releasing more than 20 studio albums and collaborating with a wide range of celebrated artists, including Paul Carrack, Bonnie Tyler, John Wetton, and Brian May, who has often cited Hackett as a major influence.
In 2010, Hackett and his former Genesis bandmates were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Along the way, he also found success with the mid-'80s supergroup GTR, formed with guitarist Steve Howe, and later revisited his Genesis legacy with the acclaimed Genesis Revisited projects.
