Teaser: A funky, fresh, tasty treat, St. Augustine’s Funk Butter brings you southern comfort in the form of jam band, funk, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll all rolled into a delicious dinner for the ears.

St. Augustine, Florida's Funk Butter is a stampede of energy, bringing together the genres of funk, rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and jam band. Together this group of electric giants fill venues with a high-powered intensity backed with decades of musical education and performance experience. The brainchild of front man and bass player Stephen Pigman, Funk Butter also includes musical prodigy Jim Johnston on electric guitar, Andre Martins on the keys, Pete Arnold on the drums, and Ben Strok (Herd of Watts) on electric guitar. The band also invites special guest musicians on stage with them quite often for performances, completely switching up the instruments of the band members, as well as the overall dynamic of the live performance.
Funk Butter's sound can be defined mostly as funk/jam band, but the ensemble has the tendency to sprinkle in rock and roll and rhythm and blues like salt and pepper over a plate of dinner. The versatility of the band has earned them the notoriety of being a highly contagious spectacle, which becomes addicting to the ears. Funk Butter is definitely a band that requires a dancefloor, as their original and cover material tends to be energetic and magnetic. Each member comes with a reputation for being extremely musically educated through theory and ear training, and overall the band is very clever and elusive in their original material. Audiences depart overwhelmed with inspiration and out of breath from not being able to sit still. Stephen Pigman sums up Funk Butter's band motto as "The tastiest jams you ever had spread all over your earholes. Your mom loves us."
