The Good Time Charlie Band does not have the blues. This band of local musicians, known to area music-lovers, focuses on country music and select oldies.

This is actually two or more bands in one. The full band has seven members, so when scheduling or the size of the stage doesn't allow for all seven, you could hear their three-piece band, GTC3.

The core threesome are Allen Arena, who handles lead vocals and plays guitar, Beermann (Imabase Play) plays bass and sings, and Scott D'Addario, who plays lead guitar and sings.

When the full band gets together, they are joined by one of St. Augustine's favorite fiddler/vocalists, T. R. Zielinski, plus a drummer, keyboardist, and pedal steel guitar expert.

This is not a new band; some version of the Good Time Charlie Band has performed since 2015, and at least two of them attended the same high school in New Jersey. So it makes sense they they supplement their country classics with favorite songs from the sixties and beyond, such as the Beatles, Crosby Stills and Nash, the Eagles.

Despite the Yankee influence, this is a country band—one that plays foot-stomping, cowboy-hat-wearing, yee-haw music. Expect to hear covers you know from some of the great country songwriters and musicians, and expect to be delighted. Also, plan to dance. You can't not, when you hear this band.
