Nick Norman
Blending soulful southern storytelling with heartfelt country.
Nick Norman is a captivating voice and sharp songwriter whose vibrant blend of humor, heart, southern storytelling, and soulful swagger defines his unique place in country music. Hailing from Columbia, South Carolina, Norman grew up listening to homegrown heroes like Edwin McCain and Hootie & the Blowfish, along with artists such as Stevie Wonder, and The Band. This eclectic musical diet, combined with the gospel melodies heard every Sunday at his local church, shaped his soulful sound and storytelling craft.
From a young age, Norman was drawn to the recording studio, teaming up with friend and country star Lee Brice, to craft music in a makeshift studio inside a church camp pump house. Their partnership laid the foundation for his songwriting journey and lifelong collaboration. As a teenager, he began performing across the Southeast, captivating audiences with his authentic sound and heartfelt lyrics.
Norman eventually made his way to Key West, where his dynamic solo acoustic shows quickly became a local favorite. The island’s artistic energy melded seamlessly with his southern roots, fueling his songwriting and performance style. In 2010, he debuted with the album Hey Cheater, marking his emergence as a serious artist. With a voice that can move an audience and a songwriting gift that captures both humor and heart, Norman is an artist destined to leave a lasting mark on country music’s ever-evolving story.
His recent project, produced by Lee Brice, Rob Hatch, and Elisha Hoffman, showcases Norman’s strongest work yet. Released under Pump House Records—the first for his label—this album is a testament to his growth and dedication to his craft. Norman's songwriting spans genres including pop, country, and folk, often guided by melody and mood. While working on a new song titled “Once in a Blue Moon,” he continues to explore new sounds while staying true to his southern storytelling roots.
