Old City Bros
Two Martin acoustic guitars, and two vocalists, share making music.
When you hear the name "Old City Bros" you might think we're talking about another rock cover band by four or five gentlemen of a particular age. You'd be wrong. Brad Edwardson and Andrew Fodor are brothers-in-law who like hanging out together, enjoy playing music, and decided to form a duo so they can do more of both.
Brad Edwardson is from Wisconsin, lived in Charleston, and now calls St. Augustine his home. He first learned music on piano and clarinet when he was a boy and switched to guitar after hearing Doc Watson play. The clarinet was forgotten as he found other musicians who also enjoyed jug music, "discovering" old recordings, and playing in folk and Americana jams. Brad began to write songs and formed a five-piece band called the Red Cedar Review. Their debut EP, The Highway, was released in 2018 and contains traditional songs, covers, and Brad's compositions.
Andrew Fodor graduated from Flagler College. He has played the guitar since he was 12 and continued to play gigs during and after college, performing all over the U.S.
As a duo, the bros blend genres — building on the roots of bluegrass, Americana, and jam music to write new songs and play familiar songs in new ways. These two men and two acoustic Martin guitars have grafted their talents and tastes to become a shared new adventure in sound.
