The Smiths (Robert)
Five Florida musicians in a tribute to the Cure, all performing as Robert Smith.
This tribute to the Cure, a post-punk band formed in the 70s, honors the Cure's lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Robert Smith, by providing a stage filled with five Roberts. Every band member models Robert's fashion sense by dressing nearly identically in mostly black clothing, wearing wild, wiry black hair, and using white face makeup, deep red lipstick, and black eyeliner.
All of the band's members perform with other groups, so this band performs as they are available, from Orlando to Jacksonville. Andrew Seward plays bass, Ryan Mahon plays guitar and sings vocals, and they collaborate with other musicians, including Dan Andriano, to create a five-member band with two guitars, a bass, a drummer, and someone on keyboards.
