On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, Catholics in the region will celebrate the first stop in the Camino del Mestizaje, the U.S. starting point of Spain’s centuries-old Camino de Santiago (the "Way of St. James.)

The celebration begins at 6:00 p.m. with a procession from the Castillo de San Marcos to the Cathedral Basilica at 38 Cathedral Place. The statue of St. James will be carried in the procession. The public is invited to join members of the Historic Florida Militia and St. Augustine's Royal Family, members of the clergy, historians, and local dignitaries on the solemn walk.

Father John Tetlow, of the Cathedral Basilica will celebrate a mass at 7:00 p.m.
