Active since 1969, Crystal Gayle is best known for timeless hits like “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue,” “Talking in Your Sleep,” and “I’ll Get Over You.” She has carved a unique place in American music by performing music from the country, pop, folk, gospel, and jazz genres. A Kentucky native and cousin of singer Patty Loveless, Gayle began her musical journey in her teens. In 1970, she signed with Decca Records and quickly rose to fame with chart-topping songs.
Over the decades, Gayle has earned widespread recognition, with honors from the Country Music Awards, American Music Awards, Grand Ole Opry, and a Grammy Award. She has also been inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame (2008) and the Native American Music Association Hall of Fame (2001).
