Words and Music Series: Janet Rabe-Meyer & Curtis Powell

EMMA Concert Association presents another in their series of free events, "Words and Music at the Waterworks," Thursday, January 8m, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

The Concert

Mezzo-soprano Janet Rabe-Meyer, accompanied by Curtis Powell on the piano, performs beloved music written by Cole Porter, George Gershwin, and Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Janet Rabe-Meyer is an acclaimed mezzo-soprano who is known for "her radiant voice and intense acting," according to The Times Herald-Record in Middletown, NY. She has performed with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, the Orlando Messiah Chorale Society, First Coast Opera, and the Karlovy Vary Symphony and Bohuslava Martinu Filharmonic of the Czech Republic.

Curtis Powell, a native of St. Augustine, has a distinguished career as a pianist, choral director, and music instructor.

Where: The St. Augustine Waterworks, 184 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, Florida. See below for directions by vehicle.

Getting There: While the address is 184 San Marco Avenue, the only driveway on San Marco is Exit Only, so it is not available to access the Waterworks. Access to the Waterworks is through the St. Augustine Main Library parking lot, on the opposite side of the complex. (Use 1960 North Ponce de Leon in your GPS.)
