Renowned for his masterful interpretations of songs like “Happy Xmas (War Is Over),” “A Place in the Sun,” “Colors of the Wind,” “He’s a Pirate,” and “Under the Sea,” Jake Shimabukuro is a ukulele virtuoso who seamlessly blends traditional Hawaiian influences with contemporary rock elements to create a distinctive hybrid sound.
With more than one million followers across Spotify and other streaming platforms, his live performances feature a dynamic mix of original compositions and spontaneous, inventive takes on well-known classics. Launching his solo career in 2002, Shimabukuro made history as the first ukulele artist to sign with Sony Music.
He became a viral success on YouTube with his cover of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."
