He received positive reviews from media outlets worldwide for albums such as Poor Man's Blues, The Real Deal, Code Blue Sampler, Essential Chicago Blues, Hound Dog Taylor, Easy Baby, The Gypsy Woman Told Me, and Teardrop For Magic Slim.
