Lightner Local Art Exhibition: Suburban Echoes
Saturday Sept. 3, to Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 | 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lightner Museum
The Lightner Museum will host a new Lightner Local exhibit this fall featuring the work of contemporary painter Ericka Sobrack.
The exhibit Suburban Echoes features small-scale landscape paintings focused on domestic scenes of suburban America. It will be on display at the Lightner Museum from Friday, September 3, to Monday, October 18, 2021.
Shrouded in darkness, the paintings deconstruct familiar environments, creating dream-like settings that amplify feelings of anticipation, angst and trepidation.
Sobrack was born and raised in Minnesota but currently resides in Orlando. She received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Central Florida in spring 2019 and has participated in regional, national and international exhibitions.
Her most recent solo exhibition was in the spring 2021 at the Atlantic Center for the Arts: Arts of on Douglas Gallery in New Smyrna Beach.
Created to showcase the extraordinary talents of artists who live in the Northeast and Central Florida regions, Lightner Local is supported by the Benjamin and Jean Troemel Arts Foundation.
Admission: $17 adults; $14 college students and seniors; $10 youth ages 12-17; free for children 11 and under.
When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, Sept. 3–Oct. 18, 2021
